About Quartz Grits

Quartzis a chemical compound called silicon dioxide. Quartz is also known as aubiquitous mineral with an enormous number of uses. It refers to a specificchemical compound with chemical formula SiO2. Quartz is highly resistant toboth mechanical and chemical weathering. Quartz crystals possess piezoelectricproperty, which is the ability to generate electric potential when subjected tomechanical stress. It is one of the hardest naturally occurring minerals andhence cannot be corroded easily. Pure quartz is clear in color. Color varianceis due to impurities, and this variance come in purple, white, black, pink andyellow or orange.
